PSE Madness 34 Important Specs
At a glance the PSE Madness 34 is something to behold, slightly different than the Madness 32. It looks as if it belongs in an episode of Arrow or the latest Avengers film, it has that much style going for it. Axle to axle it measures 34 ¼” and bare bones weighs 4.1lbs. This is a hefty and solid bow.
Weight of the Madness 34
It may not be feather light, but it is very manageable even with all of the RTS attachments. With stock accessories it comes to roughly 5.8lbs. The brace height is only 6”, which may seem off putting, but PSE backs this decision with proven performance and their X-Force technology. Don’t be deterred by the brace height. All together, the PSE Bow Madness 34 looks and feels good, especially with the slick camo options.
There are certainly more versatile and adjustable compound bows available. However, the Madness 34 excels at what it is designed to do: shoot fast and lethal. Going for a more adjustable bow means sacrificing speed. This bow has a fantastic fast peak FPS between 334 to 342, IBO standard. At 29” length and 58lb weight with a 350 grain arrow you’ll easily be achieving 295 FPS. It will be happy hunting with this bow! The draw length can be adjusted from 24 ½” to 30 ½”, which is a rather modest range. And the draw weight can be set between 40lbs and 60lbs. This may seem like a low poundage when compared to 70lb compound bows, but keep in mind just how fast the Madness 34 can shoot. Even at 60lbs the performance will be more than apparent.
What’s really great about the PSE Madness 34 compound bow is you’re getting that high performance without a ton of kick. The 80% let-off makes it easy to hold full draw and about a quarter of the draw is peak weight. Even better, it has a forgiving valley. Loosening the draw won’t result in having the arrow ripped away from you. All of this combined makes this compound a great option for archers who have shoulder injuries or chronic pain but still want a nice high speed and quality bow. It is very wieldy and smooth.
Madness 34 Cam System
The Madness hybrid cams have the easy adjustability and tuning of single cams, but with the speed and driving force of dual cams. It’s the best of both worlds and PSE took advantage of the hybrid system to create a really polished draw cycle. Not only that, but the back wall is stiff with just enough comfortable give. The built in Vibracheck dampeners reduce vibration and make for quiet shots. The only noise you’ll be hearing is the thunk against targets and when you robin hood your own arrows.
The PSE Madness 34 Package
The RTS package comes with awesome accessories that will be worth keeping around: the Aries sight, a popular Whisker Biscuit rest, Flexxtech 3 stabilizer, and a Shadow quiver. In addition to those staples are a PSE neoprene sling, peep sight, and a nock loop. For a steal you are getting a premium bow with an easy to handle poundage and enough speed to really feel the power of the build. It’s a gorgeous machine with just enough weight to feel durable and lasting. Impressively accurate and a ton of fun to shoot, this is a go to bow for hunters and target archers who have a medium range budget.
