The TRUGLO Range Rover Pro dot sight is a great choice if you are looking for something outside of the typical fiber optic pin sights. The clear picture quality can’t be beat and the technology used here makes all the difference when it comes to having a bright sight. Something TRUGLO has always been excellent about is adequate brightness and visibility. In this case, you have eleven brightness settings to work with and will not be disappointed by them.
TRUGLO Green Dot Sight Details
This TRUGLO green dot sight makes use of the Zero-In adjustment dial and PWR-DOT technology. The Zero-In dial is smooth and gives precise micro adjustment control over elevation and windage settings.
While the PWR-DOT creates an illuminated CENTER-DOT, in which the housing has a lighted center dot for increased accuracy. Installation and zeroing is very easy and can be done within 30 minutes. With over 40 yardage tapes included it is simple to get your sight setup precisely and with the correct labeling.
The windage and elevation settings are indicated with laser marks, which further contributes to the overall ease of use. For left handed shooters the sight can be ordered with a left handed bracket, just make sure to indicate this when purchasing the sight to ensure the correct bracket is sent. Should the wrong bracket be received the customer service will certainly fix the issue. A quiver can be attached directly to the TRUGLO green dot sight’s bracket and the necessary mounting hardware is included.
The scope housing includes a glow in the dark shooter’s ring, which is in addition to an already super bright dot. The LED dot is powered by a long lasting 700 hour CR2032 battery.
Controlling the Dot
The brightness of the dot is controlled with a dial on the top of the sight and ranges from one through eleven, although most people won’t need much above the sixth setting. The sight itself is adjustable on a slider and easy to tweak as needed. The versatility of the sight and brightness makes it perfect for both 3D archery and hunting, as well as target practice.
Included with the TRUGLO green dot sight is a neoprene lens cover to protect against the elements and transporting. There is also a level at the bottom of the sight, located just outside the housing. Sold separately is a lens kit with 2x magnification and +.50 diopter.
Even without the lens kit archers report that their groups tightened at various distances and, for some, this is the best their groups have ever been with any sight. The clear picture and lack of pins obstructing the view remove distraction and allow complete focus on the target.
TRUGLO Range Rover Sight Review Conclusion
Ultimately, the TRUGLO Range Rover is a superb sight, although a bit on the pricey side compared to fiber optic pin sights. The technology that has went into the brightness and accuracy of the dot sight really shows in the inevitably tight groups and confident shots. The brightness settings, micro adjustments, and generous amount of yardage tapes are valuable features that make for a solid package.
Easy to install, easy to adjust, and incredibly user friendly, this a great sight for anyone - especially those who have weak vision and need a clear picture. The most notable caveat to be aware of is occasional LED burnouts. Some units have had LEDs burn out within weeks, sometimes even hours, of use. Outside of those anomalies, the LED will last years and the battery will rarely need to be changed.
